With age, lips lose volume, definition and shape. In addition the corners (oral commissures) thin out and start to turn downward.
Lip filler treatment (lip augmentation) is the most popular and in demand filler treatment offered at Mediworks. This cosmetic treatment sculpts the lips making them fuller, more defined and hydrated. Dr. Badesha loves injecting lips and employs a variety of different techniques depending on the patient and considering the three-dimensional shape of the lips. Therefore it’s very important to identify the anatomical regions of the lip.
There are also certain proportions that are considered ideal and need to be considered prior to injecting For example:
- The ratio of the vertical height of the upper lip to the lower lip. Ideally this should be 1:1.6, ie Phi, the Golden Ratio.
- The width of the nose is equal to the central two-thirds of the lower lip
- When in profile, the upper lip should project out further than the top lip
Horizontal and vertical anatomical ratios can provide a useful framework for cosmetic interventions. However, you have to take thoughtful consideration of overall facial harmony. These ratios are just a guide.
At Mediworks we offer several different filler products. What we choose depends on the patients anatomy and needs.
Results will vary patient to patient because of anatomical variability. Your lips may not turn out like your friends lips or those of your favourite Instagram model.
Filler can also be used to treat wrinkles around the mouth, vertical lines and lift the oral commissures upwards.
What can I expect during my lip filler treatment?
On the day of your treatment, your doctor will meet with you and assess the area to be injected and to discuss your aesthetic goals. Based on that, your doctor will determine the right amount and type of Dermal Filler required.
Once the area is cleaned, marked and prepared, your doctor will begin the treatment. The Dermal Filler may be injected via needle, cannula or a combination of both techniques. The Lip Filler treatment takes about 30minutes.
When will I see results after my lip filler treatment?
Results can be seen immediately after Lip Filler treatment. Final results are visible once all the swelling subsides. Usually between 7-14 days after the treatment.
What is the expected recovery time after lip filler treatment?
There may be some swelling and bruising after your Lip Filler treatment. This usually subsides within a week or so. It’s important to follow the post treatment guidelines recommended by your doctor.
How long will my results last?
Lip Filler treatment can last 6-12 months. Every patient is unique in their ability to metabolize the Hyaluronic Acid. Touch up treatments are required to maintain your results.
How much does lip filler cost?
The price of Lip Filler varies upon the volume injected. Your doctor will determine the volume required after a thorough assessment and conversation about your aesthetic goals. You will be given an exact quote during your consultation.
