PRP, or platelet rich plasma, treatment results will vary from one person to the next. It is recommended to get the treatments in 4-6 week intervals with the number of sessions ranging anywhere from three to six, or more depending on the patient. Patients should expect to see results of PRP treatment by the four-month mark after their first session. If at that point, there are no noticeable results, PRP therapy may not have been the right treatment for your hair loss. 

As PRP is still a fairly new treatment option for hair loss, there is no confirmed success rate available. Research and clinical studies are ongoing on the effectiveness of PRP hair loss treatment but some studies have shown to have a great success rate for hair regrowth in many of their patients. Results and success at this point can also be open to interpretation and based on each treated individual’s idea of what success is for their hair loss treatment. PRP hair loss treatment is not a one-and-done procedure, it will require multiple sessions in order for noticeable results to be visible. With any type of change that happens over an extended period of time, patients should take a before picture that they can refer back to during their treatments in order to gauge how effective the treatment is for them, and if they are in fact seeing their hair grow back and fill in the thinning areas.
